Best dissertation Writing

A Dissertation, also known as a thesis, is a document that provides proof of candidature for a doctorate qualification. It contains the holder's details and findings of a research work. The document is lengthy and complex, yet high quality and clarity is expected in each section and subsections. A dissertation will have a title page, an abstract and a table of contents. The uniqueness of a dissertation is that every sentence and wording in all sections matters. Declaration, copyright, acknowledgment and dedication pages usually precede the abstract and table of contents, after which the actual chapters are written. It is recommended that a dissertation should give a review of previous studies done in the literature review section, a comprehensive analysis of the research topic, the methods used and findings of the study. A conclusion is usually drawn from the findings, which also highlights the challenges encountered throughout the research, the reliability of the results and the need for further studies on the suggested topics. In-text citations and a reference page are also very essential in the acknowledgment of the sources of the information used in your dissertation, which is not your original work.

Chapters of a dissertation

  • Introduction - dissertation should be clear on the scope of your work. What exactly have you chosen to investigate and why? To answer these questions, the introductory chapter may be divided into sub-topics such as the Background, Literature review, Problem Statement, Purpose or Objectives of the study, the Research Questions, the scope of the study, and the Definition of terms that will be used in the entire dissertation.
The Literature review should provide the reader with an analysis of the previous works done by other researchers. The works must be related, scholarly, accurate and relevant to your topic of study. This justifies the need to explore the topic in question. From the analysis of previous studies, the literature review creates a research gap. This is an area that has either not been comprehensively covered, or has not been studied at all. Precisely, it facilitates the formation of the research topic, objectives and questions.
  • Methodology - this section of a dissertation contains an explanation of the methods that were employed in carrying out the research. The methods used in any analysis are crucial to the success of the study. Why are the methods used in the study the most appropriate? Data sources, collection and analysis techniques should be provided. The academic basis for the methods' selection should be clearly stated. Under methodology, explanations are given. Hence, if, for instance, questionnaires were used in data collection, a clear description of how the whole process was done should be provided. The methodology section should also explain the type of data used in the research; either quantitative or qualitative or both. To meet this requirement, it is worth asking yourself, "Were the data sources used primary or secondary?”
  • Results - in this chapter, the readers will want to know your exact research findings. The observations and discoveries made during the study are presented without discussing them. The focus should be on the key findings, especially those that answer the research question(s). The results should be brief and precise. Figurative expressions such as graphs and tables are used to develop the clarity of the general trends in the findings; hence, detailed explanations are not necessary under this section. A description of every chart, graph or table included in the results chapter should be provided; otherwise, the figure should be omitted. Caution should be taken not to leave out any critical information that is relevant to the study. The results should be described and not explained or discussed. The next chapter is the discussion section!
  • Discussion - the success of a good discussion depends on how the results were presented. This chapter should be an interpretation and explanation of the key study findings that were made earlier. Any unexpected results that were established should be discussed. The research questions should be answered here. A justification of the approaches used in the research should be provided. A critical evaluation of the study should also be given. The student should clearly demonstrate that he or she comprehends both the implications and limitations of the research results.
It is important that the discussion connects with the findings and relates to the literature review and research questions appropriately. A comparison of the study results with other studies that were mentioned in the literature...
